The End of the Beginning

there is this quiet that has suddenly surrounded me today. its calming. its the same calm which comes when i am at a beach watching a sunset.

there is this anticipation and it starts from when the bright orb in the sky, which you cant look at, suddenly starts getting softer, you start seeing the shape that it actually is, it starts sinking slowly at first, then it picks up speed as it touches the horizon, almost as if its time for it to cool in the water, you hear a 'sizzz' sound and then suddenly when you feel like you can capture that 'moment' in your mind, it just slips away from your side of the world and then the calm silence comes.....its there for a couple of seconds and you wish it could last forever....its like everyone just experienced the exact same thing and we are all paused.......no ones breathing.......its a peace i wish to hold on to.....

and then you are on the other side and the buzz starts again.......but just that single 'moment' of peace takes you through the rest of the evening, you later fall asleep, full of hope and calm and the whole 'its-going-to-be-alright' feeling.....

dawn arrives and thats another experience altogether....you wake up to complete darkness, your eyes take some time to adjust, the anticipation returns. early mornings have a freshness in them. there is a different energy and for me its hope that the huge bright orb which sank, would be there again. i havnt figured out why, but to me sunsets seem faster compared to sunrise. there is no particular 'moment' that you can capture in your mind. i think thats what makes sunrise so much more exciting....its longer and you can see the intensity of the sun increase gradually....

and then you are on the other side and the buzz starts again....

today is the 31st of December there will be a sunset and a sunrise tomorrow......however there will be one more 'moment' which will come at 11.59.......it will be the end of the beginning......
