concerts

last night there was a concert in bangalore. the performers were Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan, Selvaganesh, U Shrinivas and Sivamani. anyone who sees this list would want to go for it. my plans changed a bit but finally i ended up going for it.

the minute we got to the entrance i realised that it wasnt a good idea at all. the thing with free concerts is that LOTS of people land up, which is a good thing because music is for everyone and i totally believe in that. what i cant handle is people who dont realise that there are different genres of music and this was NOT a rock show!!

so we pushed out way through and got inside and then came the second surprise. times of india had a special section in front of the stage, its a sponsored event so its alright for them to give passes to the hip and hep people of bangalore, who ofcousre need to get the best seats in the house. however, most of those seats were empty!!! that ticked me off but i managed to control myself...

we went around and then choose a place to sit and i thought ok cool, its not that bad, we were quite far from the stage, the speakers were only in front, it looked manageable. then suudenly the noises started, for some reason people wanted to talk really loudly and shout and eat and jump and sit on 3-4 seats so that they can see the stage better!!!! thats when i lost it and i said screw it i think i want to leave...the good thing was that Priya also wanted to get out of there and thankfully we spoke up and werent trying to be nice to each other :)

so we left. thank God for almost sound proof cars, and thank God for CD players and thank God for Beatles :))

other than that it was a good day yesterday :)
