i had the most amazing end and start to the new year.

End - was spent in mumbai. decided to go there for a gig and concert. the gig was at IIT Powai. friends of mine were playing for their fest. its been ages since i watch taaq out of town and i think i missed travelling with them for a gig. it was amazing just to hang around and chill. mumbai is such a nice place. the concert was at a place called MC Ghia and it was really nice. funny the connections that happened,4 years back when i travelled with taaq to kerala i made a friend on the trip and this performance that i went for was her first. it was nice to sit and watch. its nice to know people for so long that you see the transitions clearly.
Then i flew back to Blr and in 45 minutes of landing took off to Pondicherry. It was my first drive all alone and it was amazing. so many photo opps. was in pondi a little after lunch. went directly to a place called Dunes Resort. the good thing was that as soon as i walked in i went to the beach. sat there for a bit and watching the sun go down. the funny thing about being on the east coast is that the sun doesnt set into the sea. it was behind us. the sound of waves is the most awesome thing ever. after that happened the guy who owns the resort took us to his home. it was my first experience of open homes. the people from auroville dont believe in walls. so this house had no walls. everyone was speaking french and they were so nice to us. its been ages since i smoked J's properly and we sent our first one there. from then on everything got better. dinner was a 7 course french meal. the evening started with some different music for me. a london based band headed by Susheela Raman played. she was singing some awesome songs with tamil lyrics. it was quote trippy. some of them were chants and she really took off in the middle. then taaq came on. the stage was brillant it was a old monument converted into a stage. it was a good gig. went back to the room at around 3 and started smoking up and talking. ganga jamuna happened after a long time.

Start - the day started off with breakfast at this really nice joint called surguru. what food man. ate idli, pongal and masala dosa. then started back at 12:30. a really nice picnic happened under the trees and with open fields all around us. super it was.

this will remain in my memory for some time to come. this year is going to be about being liquid and fitting in. this year is going to be about excelling. this year is going to be about closures. this year is going to be about larger things. the bigger picture. this year is going to be about caring. this year is going to be about sharing. this year is going to be about family. this year is going to be about friends. this year is going to be about being a better person. this year is going to be about setting priorities. this year is going to be GOOD.
