closer

so i watched this movie last night and it was crazy nice. i have always wondered about relationships and how they work. this movie gave a different perspective on love and how you could be in love with multiple people. it also showed lust and thats something i have never understood. when you love someone then you cant be physically attracted to someone else and want that someone so badly that you are willing to risk whats so damn important for you. where do you draw the line? if you cross it can you be forgiven?

the movie also spoke about breaking up by making someone feel guilty. its supposed to make you get out of it faster. if you have that one thing that you can hold against the person then you can get out of it and never turn back. i cant relate to that. i guess my idea of loving someone is never hurting them in any way.

are we meant to mate throughout our lives? is it so easy to hop in and out of relationships and not want something more permanent? can you be close to someone and still not know whats going on in their heads?

i realised that i am old fashioned. i still believe in the purity of love. i still believe that if you love someone and they love you back, its forever. i still believe that physical intimacy is love being taken to a higher place and when you share that with someone it can never be as amazing with someone else.

DAN: Why'd you leave?
PORTMAN: Problems with a male.
DAN: Boyfriend?
PORTMAN: Kindof.
DAN: And you left him, just like that?
PORTMAN: It's the only way to leave. "I don't love you anymore. Goodbye."
DAN: Supposing you do still love them?
PORTMAN: You don't leave.
